Entry Educational Qualification :
50% marks in aggregate in B.E. or B. Tech Degree from a University recognized by the University Grants Commission. & 50% marks in English either at 10th or 12th.
(25 years) as on the date of commencement of the course - maximum.
Medical Fitness :
25 years for graduation level. Medical Merchant Shipping (Medical Examination) Rules 2000, as amended.
Pre-Sea Education and Training :
Duration 4 months conducted in INDIA.After completion of training candidate will be awarded certificate in shipping and transport (CST) along with basic STCW courses & CDC issued by reputed foreign countries.
Sea-going Service :
Shipboard Attachment Program (SAP) 18 - Months Sea going training on board merchant ships, A Distance Learning Program (DLP) will have to be completed by all the trainees during this stage.
Post-Sea Education and Training :
5 - Months preparatory program leading to the trainees obtaining their Class 3 (Deck) Unlimited COC issued by Maritime New Zealand provided they satisfy all the assessment and other criteria. This is an IMO White List certification and accepted globally in the maritime world.
Radar and ARPA Simulator training :
A-IV/2 GMDSS GOC, A-VI/2-1 PSC & RB, A-VI/3 AFE, A-VI/4 MFA Certificate of Competency : Second Mate of a Foreign-going ship (Class 3 (deck) unlimited COC issued by Maritime New Zealand) CAREER
